"Talking Tayside" is the contact centre forum for Tayside region, a public-private partnership that works to highlight capabilities of the sector and associated career opportunities. Public sector partners include Dundee City Council, Dundee College, Angus Council, Perth & Kinross Council, Scottish Enterprise Tayside, Jobcentre Plus and Careers Scotland. Key employer members include Norwich Union, Tesco, HBOS, CleintLogic, BT, Inland Revenue and the Pension Service.
The forum plays a key role in maintaining and developing an industry that has become a key contributor to the local economy now employing approx. 5,000 people in the Tayside region. The contact centre forum promotes the industry to the local workforce and shares best practice on operational issues.
Talking Tayside has fostered partnerships between employers as well as local training providers to create pre-recruitment training programmes that reflect the needs of employers and produce an adequate supply of qualified, ready to employ people. Key themes include; positive pr and media coverage for all members, establish and maintain relationships with key professional bodies, exchange information and expertise through networking events and recognise best practice within centres and the efforts of staff through an annual Talking Tayside Awards competition.

Over 200 invited guests and industry professionals will gather at the Apex Hotel, Dundee on 25th November to celebrate the commitment and talent of local employees and promote excellence, professionalism and outstanding performance within the contact centre industry.
