Twenty-three employees from Ipswich call-transfer company Call Connection have taken part in a fundraising tandem sky-dive in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), raising over £1,000. The group participated in the sky-dive at the March Airfield in Cambridgeshire and enjoyed glorious weather for their 11,000ft jump.
Colin Wilson said: "The contrast between heart stopping freefall and relaxing parachute glide was huge. You went from total excitement to being very chilled in 30 seconds. Everyone who jumped all agreed it was one of the best experiences ever. And as a good bonus we managed to raise over £1000 for a very worthwhile cause."
Graeme Kalbraier, Managing Director of Call Connection commented on his employees: "I am really pleased with my staff for collecting over £1000 for a great cause. It is excellent to be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance, because it is the charity Call Connection has chosen for this month anyway. The act of jumping from a plane several thousand feet in the air is not lost on me as an ex army parachutist, so the fact that 23 of my staff completed it makes me very proud indeed."
Call Connection is dedicated to supporting local charities and is once again the principle sponsor of the Ipswich and Suffolk Press Ball, taking place on 20th June, in aid of Disability Care Enterprise. Managing Director Graeme Kalbraier has recently joined the Board of the Somebody's Daughter Campaign and last month the firm opened to take £70,000 worth of donations for Sport Relief '08.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was founded in 2000. The helicopter and its crew are on stand-by for 365 days a year and can reach almost anywhere in the region within 20 minutes and often quicker. They fly an average of 4 missions per day, getting patients to hospital within the "Golden Hour", greatly increasing patients' chances of making a full recovery.
