Chey Garland, Founder and Chief Executive of Garlands Call Centres, has collected her CBE from Buckingham Palace.
She received her award from the Prince of Wales, after being honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2007.
Chey was accompanied on her visit to Buckingham Palace by her twin 14 year old boys, Arran and Callum, and sister Tanya.
Chey was thrilled to receive the award, which she received for services to business in the North East.
Chey's achievements have earnt her recognition as one of the UK's top entrepreneurs and a host of top industry awards including: Business Services Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2002 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finals, Best Business Leader in the 100+ employee category at the Sage Business Awards 2002 and the Veuve Clicquot Award for Business Woman of the Year in 2005.
Garlands employes 3200 staff at 8 contact centres in the UK, 3 in Hartlepool Marina, 1 in Middlesbrough town centre, 3 at Garlands' Contact Centre Village in Stockton and 1 in South Shields.
Over 36 million customer contacts are handled every year at Garlands Call Centres with annual sales at £48.6 million in the year to 31st Oct 2007.
