Tesco tops at Talking Tayside quiz night

9th November 2011 - In Tuesday, November 8, as part of Talking Tayside Contact Centre Week 2011, contact centre employees from across the local area tested their general knowledge at the annual Talking Tayside Quiz Night.

Over twenty teams participated in the Talking Tayside Quiz Night and, following several hotly-contested rounds, Tesco Customer Service Centre’s  Natural Born Winners lived up to their name by being declared the winners. “As always, it was a great night,” said Keir Duncan, Natural Born Winners’ team captain. “We’ve been trying to win the Talking Tayside Quiz Night for several years and, having been runners-up a couple of times, we’re delighted to have finally been presented with the trophy!”

As well as finding out which contact centre was the most knowledgeable about a diverse range of subjects, the Talking Tayside Quiz Night also provided an excellent fundraising opportunity. During the evening, over £180 was raised for the Children’s Ward at Ninewells Hospital, much to the delight of the teams and the event organisers. 

Talking Tayside Contact Centre Week highlights the success of the contact centre industry across Angus, Dundee and Perth and the career opportunities it provides. Today, local school pupils will spend time at one of Dundee’s many contact centres while on Thursday, November 10, Jobcentre Plus clients will be able to find out more about working in the contact centre industry at the Talking Tayside Information Day.

Talking Tayside Contact Centre Week 2011 runs until Sunday, November 13, when the annual Talking Tayside Awards will be presented to the area’s top contact centre employees and contact centres at a glittering Viva Las Vegas Night at G Casino, Dundee.

Talking Tayside (www.talkingtayside.co.uk) was initiated by Dundee City Council in 2000. The forum is a public private partnership, established to develop the contact centre industry in Tayside and to promote a positive image of the industry in the community.
